Please note that:
Step 3: Step 3: Run VirtualBox and Set Up the Virtual Machine. In this step, you will add a virtual machine that will run DOS 6.22. First, open VirtualBox. At the top of the screen, you will see a button labeled 'New'. Give the virtual machine a name. If you get a scrolling list of 'Invalid Opcode' errors when you boot the FreeDOS 1.2 installation CD-ROM on VirtualBox, this is a bug in VirtualBox since we released FreeDOS 1.2. To fix: When you boot the FreeDOS install CD-ROM, at the first 'Welcome to FreeDOS 1.2' boot screen, press the Tab key to edit the boot options. The “FreeDOS 1.2″ VHD” is a VirtualBox image file of FreeDOS 1.2, created from the CD-ROM standard installer, found at FreeDOS.org. I made no changes, so this is the original FreeDOS 1.2, released December 2016. See here, how to install it. Please see the FreeDOS wiki for more about configuring FreeDOS in VirtualBox. There are several FreeDOS images available. FreeDOS 1.0 Size (compressed/uncompressed): 84.3 MBytes / 375 MBytes Link: Notes: From the full install ISO image, no.
- Every image contains the latest software as of the day the image was built. Performing updates is on your own, and may require looking for documentation to read using your favourite search engine.
