- In order to update the controller firmware, the controller must be paired to the console and powered on.
Note: The controller firmware can be updated while the controller is attached to the Nintendo Switch console or while it is connected wirelessly.

- Ensure your console has the latest system update installed.
- From the HOME Menu select System Settings, then navigate to Controllers and Sensors.
- Select Update Controllers to begin updating the controller's firmware. If multiple controllers are paired to the console, the firmware will be updated one controller at a time.
