In this game, you search for clues and decipher letters left in battlefields as you follow a soldier’s storyline. There are three storylines to choose from.
The game covers various locations from the Civil War from the beginning at Fort Sumter in 1861 to the surrender at Appomattox in 1865.

Soldiers spent a lot of time sitting around waiting for the fighting to start. To ease their nerves, they often played cards and dominoes.

Yet even when Republican Abraham Lincoln was elected president on November 6, 1860 clearly all men were not equal as 4,441,790 black men women and children representing 14.1% of the nation's population were slaves with no rights.
Best Civil War Games
The events that led to the outbreak of the civil war in 1861 can probably be traced back to a court ruling on 6th March 1857 when the United States supreme court decided that a black American could not be a citizen of the United States and therefore had no rights. A national debate ensued and when Lincoln was elected president he vowed to abolish slavery in the United States just as the British had done in 1833.
This was in direct opposition to the cultural and economic wishes of the southern states who seceded from the Union and declared themselves a separate country as the Confederate States of America. The civil war that ensued lasted for four years and claimed 625,000 lives. It ended when the Union cavalry captured fleeing president of the Confederate States, Jefferson Davis, was captured on 10th May 1885 and resistance collapsed.
