Verizon’s Casio G’zOne weird smartphone has just received a new software update that promises to fix some of the bugs that have been plaguing this handset for quite a while.

Casio G’zOne was launched in the US more than a year ago with Android 2.2 Froyo operating system out of the box.
It’s pretty clear that the smartphone won’t be getting any major software upgrades to Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean, but at least it got Gingerbread.
However, Casio has been kind to those who purchased its device and has already delivered several maintenance updates, which are meant to improve their overall experience with the phone.

Today, Verizon released a new software update for Casio G’zOne Commando, which is dubbed C771M120. This is rather a minor update, which includes several bug fixes. It is also worth mentioning that the update makes a few drastic changes to the phone’s software.

More specifically, the Mobile IM application that’s been pre-loaded on the phone has been now removed from the device.
According to the official changelog, Casio G’zOne Commando’s speakerphone now successfully turns off after a Push to Talk call is completed. This is a welcomed change as users have been complaining of this issue for quite a long time.

Another Push to Talk-related change has been included as well and it is meant to improve device stability by decreasing power cycles during a Push to Talk call.
Furthermore, Casio G’zOne Commando comes with a Desk Cradle application, which hasn’t been updated in months. Fortunately, the latest C771M120 update brings a new version of the application that includes the latest bug fixes.

Last but not least, the Android partner security bulletin has been applied to the device. Keep in mind that the update is pushed OTA (over the air) and it is only 14.9MB in size.
